The crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has taken another dimension as the new ward executives who emerged in Ganduje Ward, have issued a fresh suspension order on the embattled national chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
Besides, the new excos in the ward in Dawakin Tofa local government area of the state claimed to be the legally and validly elected” leaders on July 31, 2021.
Addressing journalists in Kano yesterday morning, the secretary of the ward, Ja’afar Adamu Ganduje, on behalf of 11 other executive members, said the suspension of the former governor was prompted by the allegations of anti-party activities exhibited by Ganduje which led to the division and failure of the party during the last elections.
Adamu, who is Ganduje’s nephew, also accused the APC chairman of igniting the conflict of interest which led to two factional excos in the ward, which has brought the party to disrepute before members of the public.
He alleged that Ganduje has not been paying his statutory party dues.
According to Adamu, “We are the authentic executives of Ganduje ward and we have passed a vote of no confidence and imposed a new suspension on Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for a series of reasons.
“First, we have suspended Dr. Ganduje’s membership for creating internal conflict among party members at the ward level. Another major reason why the authentic executives resolved to suspend Ganduje is the issue of anti-party activities he caused during the 2023 elections, which resulted in the party’s failure in the state.”
Adamu emphasised that the two factions claiming to be excos from Ganduje ward are fake and impostors orchestrated by Ganduje and other elements in the party.
Adamu reiterated that the real Ganduje ward leaders would not hesitate to institute legal action against the two factions that earlier addressed the media claiming to be ward excos.
