The vaccination of the animals was  kicked off in Baruten, a local government area of the state, with a courtesy visit to the Emir of Okuta, Dr. Abubakar Sero Idris.

The team lead who is also the animal health officer of Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), Dr. Bukola Richards, described anthrax as an infectious disease caused by exposure to bacillus anthracis bacteria, adding that the disease is very fatal and could be devastating to both public health and the economy of the state.

She solicited for the cooperation of livestock owners toward having a successful vaccination exercise.
