As the insecurity lingers, the Benue State government has taken steps to strengthen its emergency management and digital infrastructure through innovative, technology-driven solutions.

The executive secretary Benue State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Sir James Iorpuu, who disclosed this during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Benue Digital Infrastructure Company PLC and the Benue State Bureau of Homeland Security, said the MoU would help in effectively and efficiently handling the issue of insecurity in communities.

Sir Iorapuu explained  that the partnership aimed at integrating advanced digital tools into emergency management operations, enabling the state to better serve its citizens.

He said, “This initiative is part of the state’s efforts to align its services with international standards, positioning Benue as a model for other states in Nigeria.

“This development is the latest in a series of initiatives aimed at transforming Benue State’s digital landscape. Earlier this year, the state government signed an MOU with EVNT Technologies, a leading Saudi Arabian IT firm, to develop the state’s digital infrastructure. The Benue State Executive Council has also approved the full domestication of the National Digital Economy Plan Strategy (NDEPS) in the state.

“As we append our signatures to this MoU today, let it serve as a testament to our collective resolve to build a safer, more resilient, and better-prepared Benue State.

Let us work together to ensure that this partnership delivers the intended results and transforms the lives of our people.
