The live transmission of Big Brother Naija Season 10 reality TV show has resumed after suffering a major disruption on Friday evening due to a power issue.
The power glitch, which lasted for five hours, left fans and supporters of housemates asking questions about the safety of the housemates.
However, organisers of Big Brother Naija had earlier announced on their official Facebook handle that the blackout was caused by a temporary power failure, assuring viewers that the housemates were “safe and sound.”
“We’re currently experiencing a temporary break in Big Brother Naija transmission due to a power issue. Rest assured, the housemates are safe and sound,” the statement by Multichoice read.
The company added that its technical team was working “swiftly to restore power and normal service.”
Hours later, posts began circulating across social media, suggesting that the live show had returned. One widely shared update on Facebook read, “BBNaijaS10 is back after 5 hours of break in transmission.” Checks by our correspondent showed the transmission was back with the housemates presenting their weekly wager in the Arena.
The disruption sparked anxiety among fans of the show, which is in its 10th season and commands millions of viewers across Nigeria and Africa.
