An aspirant for Abia North senatorial district on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Sam Anya, has lauded the efforts of the state chapter of the party at the ongoing e-registration of the party.

He also commended the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, for providing the chapter with 204 pieces of tablets for the conduct of the registration.

Anya spoke with LEADERSHIP Weekend after monitoring the exercise in Ohafia, the headquarters of the district, saying that from figures so far recorded, he is convinced that it would be a huge success.

“I’m impressed by what I observed and express my profound appreciation to the leadership of the chapter under Dr Kingsley Ononogbu for the efforts,” he noted.

Anya, who was a commissioner for Special Duties in Rivers State, used the opportunity to encourage the people of the district to register and obtain their permanent voter’s cards (PVC).

He emphasised the need for continued sensitisation of the people on the necessity to register and obtain their cards.

‎On his chances of winning the election in 2027, he explained that it is very bright because with his experience, he is suitably qualified “for a seat in the nation’s Red Chamber.”

‎”I’m also convinced that another factor in my favour is that since 1999, my local government area, Ohafia, among the five that make up the district, is yet to occupy the seat.”
