Anyanacho who was in the women’s -67 kilogramme category lost 0-2 in the round of 16 fight to Song Jie of China at the Grand Palais.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that both fighters were level at 3-3 in the bout’s opening round.
Song however tore away from her with a score of 8-2 in the second round to win the pairing and advance to the quarter-finals.
NAN reports that Anyanacho’s loss means that Team Nigeria’s hopes of a medal from the sport has again ended.

The fighter is being managed by 2008 Games bronze medalist China Chukwumerije.(NAN)
