A former governorship aspirant in Kogi State and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Saidu Ugonoh, has said the newly elected national chairman of the party, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has demonstrated rare capacity to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections through sincere engagements with all levels of the party organs.
In a condolence message to the APC chairman over the demise of his mother who was laid to rest last Saturday, the former adviser to ex-speaker of the House of Representatives on Diaspora Affairs, said death is a necessary end. Regardless the age, the loss of a mother pierces deeply and urged the APC national chairman to take solace in the fact that his mother lived a life worthy of emulation as testimonies of her positive impacts on the lives of the underprivileged and everyone who had an encounter with her abound.
Ugonoh, who holds the traditional title of ‘Santuraki of Ebiraland’, said the APC national chairman has proven to many that leadership requires a combination of innate qualities and developed skills.
He said the chairman’s ability to motivate, adapt, and build relationships that will further promote the party and Nigeria are qualities that younger politicians and leaders must imbibe for inspiration. “Today, mama is no more, but her imprints will remain fresh on the sands of time. She gave Nigeria a worthy son.”
The APC chietain said as candidate of the party for the 2023 governorship election in Plateau State, former minister and now national chairman, Nentawe has shown uncommon qualities of an emerging leader that is prepared to handle complex challenges and find solutions, adding that without sound and disciplined home training he could not have achieved all that, “and I must sincerely say, mama and papa both did a good job.”
