Chairman of the APC Convention Central Coordinating Committee and former Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, has called for unity, discipline, and transparency among delegates at the ongoing APC National Convention.

Delivering his welcome address, Masari apologised to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the delay in commencing proceedings before formally welcoming delegates and participants from across the country.

“It is with profound honour and deep humility that I welcome you all to this national convention of the All Progressives Congress. Today, we gather not only as members of a political organisation, but as custodians of a vision, guardians of destiny, and architects of a future that will define the course of our nation for generations to come,” he said.

He described the convention as a historic and solemn assembly, stressing that it is a moment to reaffirm the party’s values, renew commitments, and strengthen dedication to both the party and the nation.

Masari noted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been sustained by the sacrifices and loyalty of millions of Nigerians who believe in its promise of progress, justice, and unity. He added that the party has grown into a strong platform for reform despite facing challenges over time.

“The APC has come a long way from its inception. It has remained a beacon of hope and a movement for change. Though we have faced challenges, each one has strengthened our unity and resolve,” he said.

He reminded delegates that leadership is rooted in service and responsibility, not privilege or titles, urging them to approach their duties with a sense of national purpose.

“The responsibility you carry today is immense. You are not here merely to cast votes, but to shape the future. Your decisions will influence the direction of our party and the destiny of our nation,” he stated.

Masari called on delegates to conduct themselves with dignity, fairness, and discipline, emphasising that the convention should be remembered for both its outcomes and the integrity of its processes.

Addressing national challenges, he acknowledged issues such as insecurity, economic pressures, and social divisions, but described them as opportunities to demonstrate resilience and unity.

“These challenges are not insurmountable. They are opportunities to reaffirm our commitment to building a Nigeria that is stronger, fairer, and more prosperous,” he added.

He expressed appreciation to the President and party leadership for entrusting the committee with the responsibility of organising the convention, expressing confidence that the event would leave a lasting legacy.

Masari also commended the convention coordinating committee for its dedication and hard work in ensuring the gathering’s success.

“As chairman of this convention, I assure you that every process will be guided by transparency, fairness, and respect for the will of the people. Together, we will emerge stronger, more united, and better prepared to lead Nigeria into a new era of progress and greatness,” he said.
