‘APC Now Noah’s Ark For Everyone’, Says Governor Sule

Nasarawa State governor and Chairman of North Central Governors’ Forum, Abdullahi Sule, has likened the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) to Noah’s Ark which accommodates everybody.

Speaking at the ongoing constitution review meeting of APC North Central zone in Lafia, Governor Sule said good governance being championed by President Bola Tinubu through various pro-people reforms has endeared the party to opposition leaders, stressing that the wave of defection into the fold was not for nothing.

The governor hinted at the move by another opposition governor to join the fold at the next Progressive Governors’ Forum meeting, adding that there is no better time to embark on constitution review by the party than now.

He, however, did not give the identity of the affected governor.

“There is no better time to look at the constitution of our party like now. At the next meeting of the Progressive Governors’ meeting, we are welcoming another governor into our party. This is happening, because our party, like our former national chairman has mentioned, has become the Noah’s Ark. Anyone who wants to be part of good governance has to come and join,” he said.

Governor Sule who is also a member and Coordinator, North Central, APC Constitution Review Committee, said the moment presented an opportunity for stakeholders to push for necessary amendments of the constitution to take care of inherent lapses and whatever issues the party’s emerging status might throw up.

He charged stakeholders to use the opportunity to submit many memoranda for the amendment. “We will sit as members of this committee to review the memorandum and accommodate them,” he assured.

Also speaking at the occasion, the National Chairman of the party, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who was represented by the Deputy National Secretary, Professor Abubakar Kana, thanked Governor Sule for hosting the constitution review committee.

He particularly commended the governor for making the party proud through his development strides in all sectors.

“We must first thank the Governor of Nasarawa State for hosting us. He is a party friendly Governor. He has, like I always said, held very firmly and tightly, the torch of victory for the party in the state. He has done very well,” he said.
