APC Wins Ebonyi Council Polls

All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the local government and councillorship elections conducted in the 13 local government areas of Ebonyi State at the weekend.

The chairman of the electoral body, Jossy Eze, announced the election results in Abakaliki, the state capital.

He said three political parties participated in the election which he described as free, fair and credible.

He said that in Abakaliki local government, Ebere Stephen Nwogba won with 9,4071 votes, while Timothy Nwachi polled 5,186 votes in Afikpo local government area to emerge victorious.

According to Eze, Chima Ekumankama and Chinedu Uburu scored 71, 040 and 44, 967 votes in Edda and Ebonyi local governments respectively while Ogodoali Nomeh and Mrs. Euphemia Nwali won with 42,709 and 50,770 votes.

The EBSIEC chairman said Sunday Nwankwo and Emmanuel Ajah scored 83,791 and 35,905 votes, respectively, in the Ikwo and Ivo councils.

He further disclosed that Stephen Emenike got 85,887 votes in Izzi council while Agwu Peace Ifeoma scored 48,392.
