An All Progressives Congress (APC) women leader in Bauchi State, Fatima Nuhu, has urged president Bola Tinubu to address insecurity and economic hardship in the country.

Nuhu, who is a member of Central Unity Forum, a pro Shehu Buba group, however said Tinubu stood a better chance of winning women votes across party lines.

Speaking to our correspondent on Wednesday after a meeting of the Forum, Fatima said, “President Tinubu has good intention and plan for the country but some of his aides are not supporting his Renewed Hope Agenda to improve the economy of the country.

“We will continue to rally support for the president and Senator Shehu Nuna in Misau and Bauchi central but we want the President to address economic hardship and insecurity well ahead of next general elections in the country,” Fatima said.

She added, “It is important for the president to sit back and reflect on the successes and failures of his policies with a view to making adjustments. Some northern states grapple with insecurity. This problem should be addressed.”

Nevertheless, Fatima expressed optimism that the north will vote for President Tinubu in 2027.

On her part, Ningi women leader, Central Unity Forum, Talatu Ningi, promised to work for Tinubu’s re-election.

She, however, urged the president to reduce the prices of food items to allow poor Nigerians eat healthy foods and avoid going to bed with empty bellies.

“We are happy that food prices begin to go low. We hope the President will sustain the tempo and poor households continue to have food on the table,” she said.

Also Speaking, Women leader, Unity Forum, Darazo local government, Rashida Abubakar said she will raise funds to purchase Senator Shehu Nuna’s nomination and expression interest forms to contest for Bauchi governorship seat in 2027.

She commended the lawmaker for giving women a voice and adequate representation.

“Considering Senator Shehu Buba’s performance, we don’t feel the void of not being in control at the Bauchi Government House. He performed well across the state, extending hands of friendship to all and sundry,” she said.
