The Northeast chapter of the APC Youth Parliament has described Nigeria’s vice president, Senator Kashim Shettima, as a worthy ambassador of the nation, praising his performance at international engagements, particularly at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

In a statement issued yesterday in Bauchi, the parliament’s chairman, Mr Kabir Garba Kobi, commended the vice president for what he called an ‘exemplary representation’ of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nigeria on the global stage.

Kobi noted that Shettima’s speech at the UNGA, where he spoke on climate change, international debt, peace and security, digital transformation, and the Palestinian issue, reflected both his loyalty to President Tinubu and his commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“By insisting that Africa deserves a permanent seat on the UN Security Council and affirming the rights of Palestinians to a homeland, the Vice President placed Nigeria firmly on the side of justice, fairness, and global equity,” the statement read.

The Youth Parliament also praised Shettima for drawing global debates into Nigeria’s local realities, referencing issues like flooding in Maiduguri, insecurity, and economic challenges.

According to the group, this showed his determination to seek homegrown solutions while strengthening international cooperation.

On speculation about 2027 politics, the Northeast APC Youth Parliament cautioned advocates of a paradigm shift in the party’s ticket to “think twice before leaping,”  stressing that Shettima’s loyalty to President Tinubu is unwavering.

“Vice President Shettima did not just read a script; he carried the aspirations of millions of Nigerians. His words resonated with truth and hope, sending a message that Nigeria is prepared to lead Africa in the global conversation,” Kobi stated.

The parliament urged Nigerians to take pride in Shettima’s international performance, describing it as “intelligent loyalty and courageous representation” that reaffirms Nigeria’s readiness to shape global conversations in Africa’s favour.
