Recently, some former known gang members and militants in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria dropped their weapons and surrendered their lives to Christ Jesus at the Omega Power Ministry OPM headquarters in Port Harcourt the Rivers State capital. The popular man of God and General Overseer of the ministry gladly received them and immediately ordered that they be rehabilitated in line with his policy of rehabilitating them. They were consequently rehabilitated but this action of giving their lives to Christ and submitting their weapons did not go down well with the gang members who consequently declared them wanted.
Some of those that gave their lives and submitted there weapons were Ebube Nduka, Napoleon Jameson, Daniel Victor as well as Kingsley Akube among others. They all submitted their lives to Christ and a representative of the State’s Commissioner of Police was there to receive the repentant militants that terrorised the Niger Delta coastlines.
Giving their lives to Christ has not come easy. Some of them that joined to shelve their evil ways have been killed by their former gang members who felt their decision to live a new life may expose their evil and criminal lives.
This has led to some of them fleeing the country inorder to save their lives. I spoke with one of them Daniel Victor who told me that he lives in fear because of the death threats on him by his former members. “I was traced to the church where I was been rehabilitated and someone helped save me and whisked me away. This is how my life was saved but some are not lucky. I have vowed and have promised Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere who God used to save me as well as the security agents that I have left criminality and will never go back to that lifestyle. I keep praying for the repose of the souls of those killed because they did not go back after promising Daddy G O” he said.
Militancy and oil theft as well as sea piracy has become a major issue in the region but with the rehabilitation efforts of the General Overseer of the Omega Power Ministry OPM has helped save hundreds of them who today have been sent abroad to countries like Turkey, Poland, Germany as well as Cyprus.
