The Kano State Hisbah Board has prohibited the planned Indian Colour Fest Party scheduled to take place at Zoo Road in Kano metropolis, citing public complaints and allegations that the event contradicts Islamic teachings.
The board announced the ban in a statement issued by its Deputy Commander, Sheikh Mujahideen Aminuddeen.
According to the statement, Hisbah received complaints from members of the public alleging that the organisers intended to use the event to promote indecent exposure and alcohol consumption.
The concerns prompted the enforcement agency to intervene and stop the planned gathering.
The event, tagged Indian Colour Fest Party, was scheduled for Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Dangi Roundabout, along Zoo Road in Kano.
Hisbah warned that anyone found participating in or facilitating the organisation of the prohibited event would be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
