A medical outreach programme sponsored by Engr. Femi Sanni, popularly known as Araba, has continued to provide free healthcare services to underserved communities in Kwara State.
Coordinator of the initiative, Mrs Korie Biola, disclosed in a statement on Wednesday that the Stëfolga Mobile Clinic outreach aims to improve access to basic healthcare for vulnerable residents.
She said the programme offers free medical consultations, medications, health screenings and minor surgical procedures to less privileged communities.
Biola explained that during the December 2025 outreach at Tanke Oke Odo in Ilorin, about 150 patients received medical check-ups and medications, while one minor surgical procedure was successfully conducted.
She added that the February 2026 outreach held at the Emir’s Palace in Ilorin recorded about 450 beneficiaries who accessed consultations, medications and health screenings.
According to her, common ailments treated during the outreach include hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, malaria, as well as peptic and duodenal ulcers.
She further disclosed that three critical cases were recently handled, and that several patients benefited from medication and professional care.
“Patients with complex conditions were referred to a teaching hospital for further management, with financial support provided for surgical interventions estimated between N800,000 and N1.5 million per case,” she said.
Biola noted that the initiative continued to impact lives, with the number of beneficiaries steadily increasing.
She commended the medical team, partners, and sponsors for their sustained support, describing the outreach as a practical demonstration of collaborative efforts to improve community health.
She also called on stakeholders and individuals to support initiatives to expand access to healthcare for vulnerable groups in the state.
Meanwhile, Sanni, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, has indicated interest in contesting the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State.
He called for a consultative and inclusive process to select the next leader of the state, stressing that leadership should be anchored in competence, integrity and inclusiveness.
Sanni said his decision followed consultations across the three senatorial districts, adding that his priorities include youth empowerment, economic growth and positioning Kwara as a hub for conferences and business activities.
