Former senator representing Imo North, Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume, has distanced himself from a publication circulating on social media and other platforms claiming to have been issued by him regarding the All Progressives Congress primary in Imo North Senatorial District.

In a disclaimer issued on Thursday by his communications office, Araraume described the publication, titled: “A Message of Gratitude, Unity, and a Clarion Call to Rebuild Okigwe Zone,” as false and unauthorised.

The former lawmaker said he neither authored nor approved the statement, urging party members, the media and the public to disregard it.

According to the statement, Araraume remains a committed member of the APC and is awaiting the party’s official decision on the Imo North Senatorial primary.

It added that he has not declared himself the party’s candidate and would only communicate his position through recognised and authorised channels.

The statement also reaffirmed Araraume’s support for the APC’s internal democratic processes, stressing his commitment to the party’s constitution and leadership.

It further stated that the former senator maintains a cordial relationship with the Hope Uzodinma, dismissing reports suggesting political disagreement between them.

The communications office said Araraume remains committed to promoting unity within the APC and called on stakeholders to disregard any unauthorised publications attributed to him.

It added that the former senator would continue to support the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and pursue the development of Imo State and the country through lawful political engagement.
