Armed Forces Day: Kebbi Gov Donates N20m To Nigerian Legion

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has donated N20 million to the state chapter of the Nigerian Legion as a show of respect for the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives watching over the nation.

The donation was presented at the launch and sale of the Armed Forces remembrance emblem to mark commencement of this year’s celebrations held at the Cabinet Office in Birnin Kebbi.

The deputy governor, Senator Abubakar Umar who represented the governor during the occasion announced the donation also commended officers and men of the Armed Forces and other security agencies currently engaged in tackling banditry in the state.

He noted that the government would continue to involve security agents and members of the legion in the security architecture of the state.

The deputy governor further announced slots of Hajj seats and a piece of land to build a secretariat which were donated to them by the governor.

Chairman of the state chapter of the legion, Rtd Sergeant Garba Hassan commended the governor for the gesture and assured of their support and loyalty to his administration.
