Arsenal are keeping close tabs on Manchester City’s captain Ilkay Gundogan.

The German midfielder is tipped to leave the reigning Premier League champions and the Gunners want to acquire his services next season to replace Granit Xhaka, if the Swiss midfielder decides to leave the London-based club.

Arteta previously raided Man City for Zinchenko and Jesus and could look to add another player to this list if Man City fail to renew Gundogan’s deal.

Xhaka has agreed a deal with Bayer Leverkusen as he closes in on a move back to Germany.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal hold a “concrete” interest in Gundogan with Arteta at the heart of their attempts to take him to the Emirates Stadium.
