Ashley Yusuf Bags African Icon Award In Ghana

Former beauty queen and founder, MAY Foundation Anti Human Trafficking and sexual abuse youth advocate, also convener, “One Girl, One Pad” Global Clean Water Initiative Ambassador, Mariam Ashley Yusuf has been honoured with the prestigious African Icon Award In Ghana.

The humanitarian cum entrepreneur, who couldn’t hide her joy on her arrival to Nigeria told journalists that she was selected amongst numerous people around the world and Africa because of her good work across Africa.

 

She thanked the organisers for finding her worthy for the award, promising it would go along way in energising the strength for her charity work.

“I was happy that I’m among the awardees in Ghana. And this award would go along way. Let me thank all those who made it possible for me. I won’t let you guys down in all my good works,” he said.

 

The 7th edition of the “African Icon Awards” was held at the National Theater, Accra Ghana with the Theme: “True African Leaders”.

 

The award seeks mainly to recognize, identify, reward, and celebrate personalities and icons who have contributed to the growth of the African continent.
