A group, Association of Masu Karatun Allo Na Tsanganya in Nigeria, has commended President Bola Tinubu over the appointment of a new leadership for the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education.

Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinibu appointed Brigadier General Lawal Ja’afar Isa (rtd) as the chairman of the Board of the Commission, while Dr Idris Muhammad Sani is to serve as the executive secretary/CEO.

A statement by the national chairman of the association, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi described the development as a clear demonstration of the President Tinubu administration to reinvigorate the teaching of the Holy Qur’an.

He also said the move would help in addressing a myriad of problems bedeviling the Tsangaya school as well as improving the wellbeing of the Almajiri system in Nigeria.

According to him, “Lawal Jafaru Isa is an astute educationist and administrator with a proven track record in his career as well as the military administrator of Kaduna State.

“His appointment could be ascribed as the “best decision” taken by President Tinubu to holistically bring sustainable development in the Qur’anic teaching and learning, welfare of Alarammomi (teachers), and ensure access to quality education for Almajiri and out-of-school children,” Abubakar said.
