He said the organisation was not for entertainment or cultural displays but would leverage on its strength to draw up development plans that would be used as advocacy tools.

Dabit described  MDA as a very important ethnic organisation within the Middle Belt, stressing that God had reasons for placing Mwaghavul people in the centre of northern Nigeria.

He spoke at the palace of Mishkaham Mwaghavul, HRH  Da. John Putmang Hirse when he was presented along with his executive members by the out-going MDA president, Sir Joseph Gwankat.

According to him, they are the head of the belt within the Middle Belt, and the community is very conscious of their leadership position within ethnic nationalities in the North Central.

He said Mwaghavul community had played a critical role in evangelising in the entire northern Nigeria, adding that anything that happens in the land create ripple effects on the states in the North.

Dabit maintained that many people thought that the election that ushered in the new executive of MDA would not hold because there was crisis in  Mwaghavul land as a result of the unprovoked attacks on the people of Mangu.

In his remarks, Da. John Putmang Hirse commended the Mwaghavul community for conducting a peaceful election devoid of bitterness rancour.
