At 75 Anniversary Of Arabic Institute, Students, Others Celebrate Late Sheikh Ameenullahi

Students of the late national missioner of Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, Sheikh AbdulRaheem Ameenullahi, a.k.a Oniwasi Agbaye recently converged on the Muhammad Kamaldeen University, Ilorin, Kwara State for public presentation of a book written  to immortalise the renowned preacher.

The presentation of the  book written both in English and Arabic languages was part of activities  that marked the 75th  anniversary of Kamal School of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Foma Babalaje, Abayawo area, Ilorin, an Islamiyah school founded by the late Ameenullahi in 1949.

The deputy vice chancellor, Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Prof Moshood Jimba reviewed the book.

Represented by Prof. Abdulkadir Hussain, the book reviewer said the piece of work – a collection of top grade and scholarly educational contributions is meant to enrich the understanding of Muslims about Islamic teachings and practices.

The chairman of the central working committee of the anniversary,Prof. Salihu Jamiu  revealed that the commemorative events held in honour of the late founder of Kamal School of Arabic and Islamic Studies were geared towards raising funds for the transformation and turnaround of the Islamic institute he founded 75 years ago.

The  chairman of the occasion, Engr. Sulyman  Alapansanpa described the late Ameenullahi as an enigma, a social crusader and an energetic scholar whose work and worth should always be a reference point to others.

In his  sermon, the national missioner of Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, Sheikh AbdulMumini Hanafi – Ayara affirmed that late  Ameenullahi,  being a distinguished pupil of late Sheikh Muhammad Kamaldeen Al-Adabby served the Muslim world diligently through his preachings and educational centres.

At the closing ceremony of the event on  Sunday, December 8, 2024, distinguished former students of Kamal School of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Ilorin, were honoured with awards.

Some of the awardees included the grand Khadi of Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, Justice AbdulLateef Kamaldeen, president of Adabiyyah Kamaliyah Alumni, Alh Nuhu Abbas, Ustaz Sakariyah Olesin, Mustapha AbdulKareem, Alh Jamiu Ajijola- Anabi, Alh Tunde Abiowa, Dr AbdulRasheed Yusuf, Alh Abubakar Oniyan, Engr Mohammed Dauda, Dr Ahmed Dauda Ahmed, Alh Usman Imam and Hajia Moshkuroh Mustapha, amongst others.

The Khalifa Adabiyyah, Sheikh AbdulKadir Kamaldeen, chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammed Soliu, the Imam Imale, Sheikh Abdullahi AbdulHameed, Imam Gambari, Ajanasi Agba were some of the dignitaries that graced the occasion.
