The event brought together distinguished guests, including prominent business leaders, senior government representatives, industry veterans, noted entertainers, and media executives. This gathering highlighted Guinness Nigeria’s essential role in the country’s industrial and cultural landscape since its stout was first introduced to Nigeria in 1950, particularly after local brewing began in Lagos in 1962.

The chairman of Guinness Nigeria, Professor Fabian Ajogwu stated, “tonight, we celebrate more than just a corporate milestone; we celebrate the spirit of excellence, resilience, and Nigerian ingenuity. Guinness Nigeria’s legacy is built on generations of visionary leadership, committed employees, and enduring partnerships.

As we reflect on our past triumphs, we are also excited about our shared future with the Tolaram Group, whose history of excellence aligns perfectly with ours.”

The managing director of Guinness Nigeria, Girish Sharma emphasized that “75 years is more than a milestone; it is a testament to trust, resilience, and the enduring bond between our brands and the Nigerian people.

“From brewing our first bottle of Guinness locally in 1962 to becoming Nigeria’s foremost total beverage company, our journey has been fueled by purpose. As we look ahead, we are firmly focused on fostering more innovation, creating more impact, and sharing more memorable moments with the people who make this journey worthwhile.”

Segun Ajayi-Kadir, the director-general of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), commended Guinness Nigeria’s unwavering resilience and visionary leadership.

He described the company as a shining beacon, a testament to the potential of the Nigerian economy, and a crucial player in Nigeria’s industrialization story—one that cannot be told without acknowledging Guinness’s significant contribution.

The Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade, and Investment in Lagos State, Folashade Ambrose-Medebem who represented Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, praised Guinness Nigeria’s extensive impact, stating, “Guinness Nigeria’s contributions go beyond job creation; they have elevated Lagos and Nigeria on the global stage.

“Their pioneering initiatives in talent development, innovation, and economic growth set a benchmark for businesses nationwide and serve as a continuous source of pride for all Nigerians.”

As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility, Guinness Nigeria continues to implement transformative initiatives across the country. These include the Guinness Eye Centres in Lagos and Onitsha, which offer free sight-restoring surgeries; the acclaimed Water of Life programme, which provides safe drinking water to thousands of Nigerians; Plan W, which empowers over 1,400 women with entrepreneurial skills and financial literacy; and the Guinness Nigeria Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme, which supports educational opportunities nationwide.

Looking confidently to the future, Guinness Nigeria pledges to remain at the forefront of innovation, social impact, and vibrant cultural engagement, celebrating life every day, everywhere.
