The distribution, supported by elder statesman Garba Noma, who procured the glasses, fulfilled a commitment made by ATBUTH during World Sight Day celebration.

The hospital also provided free medication to pupils needing additional eye treatment.
Head of the Ophthalmology Department at ATBUTH, Dr Shahir Bello, emphasised the importance of eye health in school performance.

He urged parents to consider vision issues as a potential reason for academic challenges, cautioning against quickly attributing poor grades to a lack of effort or developmental delays.

According to Dr. Bello, “Good eye care is essential for both students and teachers to succeed.”
Head teacher of Sa’adu Zungur Model Primary School, Sanusi Hamza expressed appreciation for the medical team’s contributions.

“The well-being of eyes is everything one needs in life,” he remarked, highlighting the impact of clear vision on academic and personal growth.
