Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has donated hundreds of bags of foreign rice and sugar to victims of the flood which recently ravaged most parts of Yobe State. He urged those who lost relations and properties in the incident to take it in good faith, and as an act of God.

The chairman, committee on the distribution who was minister of science and technology, Dr Abdul Bulama, condoled with the government and people of the state over the incident, describing it as “most unfortunate and highly regrettable”.

The relief materials will be given to any person who was in one way or the other affected by the flood, because the incident has stopped them from going to their places of business.

In his response, the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the state, Hon Shariff Abdullahi, said the gesture was to ameliorate the sufferings of the people and those that lost their family members as well as properties to the disaster.

According to him, those that were seriously affected, especially those with broken fences, houses and roofing, and those affected in their farms would be supported.
