Atiku Responsible For ADC Crisis in Adamawa — Wakili

Political commentator Imran Wakili has blamed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for the growing crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), alleging that key political figures who helped build the party’s coalition structure in Adamawa State have now left.

Wakili made the claim in a post on X on Tuesday, arguing that the collapse of the coalition’s political base in Adamawa could not be separated from Atiku’s influence within the party.

He said none of the major political actors who initially joined the ADC coalition in the state remained with Atiku.

“Amongst the political heavyweights that started the coalition in Adamawa, not even one is with Atiku and ADC today. No matter how you look at it, you can’t excuse Atiku from this mess,” Wakili wrote.

He alleged that former Adamawa governorship candidate Aishatu Binani had moved to the NDC, while former Governor Jibrilla Bindow was consulting on his next political move.

Wakili further claimed that former Senator Ishaku Abbo had joined the Labour Party, while Abdulaziz Nyako had defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, Atiku is now left in the ADC with only a handful of loyalists.

“Atiku is left with his son Adamu, Baba 10, and the likes. Baba really fumbled Adamawa. We warned them, but they said we don’t like Atiku.

“Nah, I don’t dislike him, I am just a realist,” he added.

The comments come a day after former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, resigned from the ADC.

Lawal had alleged that the party’s recently concluded primaries were manipulated in favour of Atiku, further intensifying concerns over internal divisions within the party.
