The son of former vice president Atiku Abubakar and commissioner for Works and Energy Development in Adamawa State, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar, has formally resigned from his position after serving two successful terms in office as commissioner.

Adamu, in a resignation letter addressed to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, expressed profound gratitude to the governor for the rare privilege and confidence bestowed upon him to serve in such a strategic capacity.

His resignation from the cabinet follows the governor’s defection from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, Adamu’s father is a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He described the opportunity as an honour of immense significance and pledged continued loyalty and support to the administration’s developmental vision.

The former Commissioner also expressed heartfelt appreciation to his father for his moral support and blessing in serving the people of Adamawa State. He commended the Permanent Secretaries of Works and Energy, the directors, engineers, and the entire staff of the ministry for their professionalism, resilience, and dedication to infrastructural advancement across the state.

Special appreciation was conveyed to the great people of Jada, his community, for their steadfast prayers, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout his tenure.
