A rescued kidnap victim has been delivered of a set of twin girls at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Lokoja, Kogi State
This was disclosed yesterday by the Kogi State government through the commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo.
In a statement he issued in Lokoja, Fanwo said the mother, whose identity is being withheld for security reasons, and her babies were in stable condition.
Fanwo said Governor Ahmed Ododo had directed that the mother and her newborns be transferred to the State Specialist Hospital for comprehensive medical care and postnatal support.
He recalled that the IDP camp was established by the state government as a temporary rehabilitation centre for rescued kidnap victims, noting that the number of rescued victims had increased due to intensified security operations.
The commissioner reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the welfare and rehabilitation of all rescued victims in the state and commended security operatives for their sustained efforts in tackling criminality in Kogi and across the country. (NAN)
