Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani has expressed deep appreciation to LEADERSHIP Media Group for recognising his administration’s efforts in promoting peace, unity, and inclusive governance.
Governor Sani said he cherishes the award of Governor of the Year describing it as a true symbol of service and nation-building.
The governor spoke on Thursday when the management of LEADERSHIP Media Group, led by its Vice Chairman, Mike Okpere, in company of the Group Managing Director Muazu Elazeh, Director Conferences Abraham Nda-Isaiah and, Director Special Projects Balogun Abdulmumuni presented a letter notifying him of his emergence as Governor of the Year 2025, at the Kaduna Government House.
Governor Sani who was elated by the nomination described the honour as special, stressing that LEADERSHIP Media group has remained a credible institution that celebrates merit, patriotism, and excellence.
“I cherish the LEADERSHIP Award because it represents the values of integrity, peace, and unity that we must continue to uphold. This recognition is not just about me, it is about the people of Kaduna who believe in peaceful coexistence and collective progress,” the governor said.
He assured that his administration will continued to prioritise peace and inclusion because “without peace, we cannot build together” he said.
According to him, the recent return of many decampees to the All Progressives Congress (APC) fold was a result of renewed confidence reposed on his administration.
“Most of the decampees listened to the call of their people and returned home willingly. Nobody forced them. That shows that our reconciliation and peace efforts are working,” he added.
Governor Sani dedicated the award to the people of Kaduna State while paying tribute to the late founding Chairman of LEADERSHIP Newspapers, Mr Sam Nda-Isaiah whom he described as a patriotic Nigerian whose ideals continue to inspire leaders across the country.
“The Late Sam Nda-Isaiah will be happy today. I will never forget him because he stood for truth, justice, and a united Nigeria”.
The governor further urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and patriotic, stressing that national unity must never be compromised.
“We must be vigilant and protect our country. Nigeria is ours, and we should not fight our own nation. The media plays a critical role in sustaining democracy and the rule of law”.
He further emphasised the crucial role of the media in strengthening democracy and sustaining peace across the country.
“The media plays a critical role in promoting democracy and the rule of law. It must continue to act as a bridge between leaders and citizens”.
Governor Sani confirmed his attendance at the LEADERSHIP Awards ceremony scheduled for February 12, 2026, in Abuja, saying he looks forward to the event with great honour.
Earlier, LEADERSHIP Group Vice Chairman, Chief Okpere, said Governor Sani’s selection was based on his remarkable leadership style, inclusive policies, and unwavering commitment to peace and development.
