Winners at the 10th anniversary edition of the Top10 Magazine Man of the Year and Excellence Awards, held in Abuja have congratulated the organisation for sustaining a decade-long legacy of credibility, professionalism, and national service.
The honourees praised the magazine for maintaining high standards in an era when many platforms have commercialised recognition and compromised editorial values.
Receiving the Business Model of the Year Award, the managing director/CEO of KEDCO, Dr Abubakar Jimeta, described the magazine as one of the few platforms which truly reward excellence rather than influence.
“You work every day without expecting anyone to notice, so when recognition like this comes, it is deeply encouraging. The Top 10 Magazine has shown that awards can still be based on credibility. I congratulate the team for keeping their standards high for 10 years,” he said.
The Humanitarian Hero of the Year, Chief Alochu Ikpobu, whose foundation has quietly supported communities for 21 years, said the honour meant even more because it came from a platform known for transparency.
“For years, we worked without seeking recognition. To be discovered and celebrated by Top 10 Magazine—a credible institution—is a significant validation. I congratulate them for remaining true to their values,” he said.
Young Creative Leader Celebrates Platform for Supporting Emerging Talent. Ahmed Bande, Founder/CEO of Vortex Entertainment and winner of Young Entertainment Game Changer of the Year, described Top10 Magazine as a robust platform that gives visibility to innovators, especially young creatives.
“What they are doing is special. This is not just an award—it is a source of motivation. I congratulate Top10 Magazine for consistently promoting real talent and Nigerian stories for 10 years,” he said.
Prof. Ode Ojowu, a former Economic Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo, who delivered the keynote address, also congratulated the magazine’s founder and team for sustaining a decade of professional excellence. “In a time when sensationalism often overshadows substance, Top10 Magazine has remained steadfast. Their courage deserves national acclaim and institutional support,” he said.
Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Mr Tony Iji, thanked the honourees for their goodwill messages and reaffirmed the magazine’s commitment to remaining credible and never commercialising its awards. “For 10 years, we have never sold tables or monetised recognition. Your congratulations mean a lot because they confirm that our values are noticed,” he said.
The event attracted top personalities from the public and private sectors, including former Chief of Army Staff and Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd.).
