Axxela Limited, a leading gas and power solutions provider in sub-Saharan Africa, has reiterated its commitment to enhancing energy security, driving industrialisation, and promoting environmental sustainability in Lagos State.

Axxela made this pledge during a visit to Lagos State governor, Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, at the Lagos House, Marina, Lagos.

Through one of its subsidiaries, Gaslink Nigeria Limited, Axxela has pioneered private-sector natural gas distribution, significantly expanding gas infrastructure in Lagos by over 170km spanning key industrial hubs, including Ikeja, Ilupeju, Isolo, Ijora, Apapa, Tin Can, Victoria Island, and Eko Atlantic.

With ongoing expansion into the Victoria Island-Lekki corridor, the company is boosting energy access, supporting industrial growth, and advancing decarbonisation efforts with a cleaner and cheaper energy alternative in Lagos.

Its extensive natural gas network has attracted new industries and continued to enable existing businesses to thrive, driving economic growth and increasing tax revenues for public infrastructure investment.

Beyond gas distribution, Axxela has demonstrated immense capacity in power development by building Independent Power Projects (IPP) for the Lagos State Government in Akute, and Alausa, and more recently, a 5.8 MW for Cadbury Nigeria.

Welcoming the Axxela Management team, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed the state government’s readiness to foster a business-friendly environment for investors. He reiterated Lagos State’s dedication to supporting enterprises like Axxela in their efforts to enhance energy infrastructure and sustainability.

Kehinde Alabi, Managing Director of Axxela Gas Distribution, stated, “We take pride in driving energy security and significantly contributing to Lagos State’s energy hub. Lagos is strategic to our business, and our initiatives are directly supporting industrialisation and promoting environmental sustainability. Our goal is to continue to collaborate with the state government to bridge the energy gap. Our AGI facility in Ikeja and expansion along the VI-Lekki corridor reflect our commitment to sustainable energy solutions that empower industries and reduce carbon emissions.”

Beyond its core energy operations, Axxela actively invests in numerous social impact initiatives, partnering with LASPARK on its annual tree planting programmes, and has supported education through its Back-to-School Scholarship Initiative which has benefited hundreds of students from host communities.
