Niger State governor has said that no child or student should be sent back from school on account of no uniform or Parent Teachers Association (PTA) fees.

He said students are free to wear any clothing to school, even as he promised to pay the P.T.A. fee for pupils in primary and secondary schools across the state.

Bago made these pronouncements at Sarkin Pawa, Munya local council of the state, as part of his ongoing statewide tour.

“Allow your children to go to school; school uniform should not be your impediment, and any teacher who sends your child back home, please report him. He will also be sent packing from the school,” Bago declared.

The governor also said that the government would take responsibility for the PTA fees of all children in public schools in the state and asked parents and guardians not to prevent their children from attending school on that account.

Therefore, he directed headmasters and principals in public schools to stop collecting PTA fees, as a violation would attract punitive measures.

Meanwhile, the governor has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing road project in the area and enjoined the contractor handling the project to ensure timely completion.

He also promised to construct a road from Sarkin Pawa to Kaduna State, a modern market, providing potable water and a primary health centre in the area.
