Bandits Abduct 13, Kill 1 In Kaduna Communities As Police Arrest 2 Suspects

No fewer than 13 residents were abducted and one reportedly killed in separate attacks on communities in Makarfi and Kajuru local government areas of Kaduna State.

Local sources told LEADERSHIP that the attackers first struck a community in the  Makarfi local government area, where one resident was killed and another abducted during the assault.

In a separate incident, the bandits allegedly kidnapped 12 residents of Dutsengaiya community in Kasuwar Magani ward of Kajuru local government area during a midnight raid.

Residents said the attackers stormed the community around 12:00 a.m. on Monday, moving from house to house before whisking away the victims to an unknown destination.

A community source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the gunmen invaded the village in large numbers, causing panic as residents fled their homes to safety.

“The bandits came around midnight and began moving from house to house. Before we knew what was happening, they had taken away several people”.

The identities of the victims had not been immediately confirmed as of the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, Kaduna State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the attack and said two suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.
