Bandits have abducted two female students of the Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) in Zamfara State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of yesterday when the kidnappers stormed the hostel located at Sabon-Gida, a community opposite the main campus of the university and locked up security guards before carrying out the abduction.
The names of the victims were given simply as Maryam and Zainab.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Mohammed Shehu, who confirmed the incident, said the bandits invaded the rented female hostel located at Sabon Gida village in Bungudu local government area of the state and abducted two female students.
He added that a police tactical team was in pursuit of the assailants to rescue the students and apprehend the kidnappers.
