Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has said that armed bandits attacking innocent Nigerians were on a revenge mission as they don’t attack without a reason.
Gumi, while expressing his views on the United States of America’s planned invasion of Nigeria on TrustTV on Friday, said if the government called bandits for peace meeting, they will honour the invitation for peace to reign.
Gumi, while calling for dialogue with bandits, said they were not like the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) who has refused to dialogue.
According to him, “They don’t just attack without a cause. Bandits are on a revenge mission. if you call them for peace, they will come. They are not like IPOB members who have refused to dialogue.”
LEADERSHIP reports that the Islamic cleric has been variously accused of defending the cause of the bandits despite their criminal activities.
