The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has explained the circumstances surrounding the arrest and arraignment of Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, brother to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the arrest followed a petition filed on October 28, 2025, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying against Samuel and three others.

She said despite multiple police invitations, the suspect reportedly failed to honour them, leading to his arrest in Lagos State with a valid court warrant. He was subsequently transferred to Abuja for investigation and subsequently charged to court on November 6, 2025, and he was remanded pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions.

Meanwhile, his sister Regina Daniels has accused her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, of orchestrating her brother’s arrest and detention. In an emotional social media post, the actress lamented what she described as abuse of power and alleged bias by the Police. She hinted that she might reconcile with Nwoko to secure her brother’s release.
