Bandits have relaunched an attack on Tsafe Town, the headquarters of Tsafe local government area of Zamfara State.
They burnt two operational vehicles for the military and killed two members of the state’s Community Protection Guards (CPG) in the area.

A resident of the area, Malam Usman Tsafe told LEADERSHIP that the bandits besieged the town with sophisticated weapons.
He said the bandits divided themselves into three groups where the first group attempted to attack Zamfara State College of Health Science and Technology located in the area.

The other two groups, according to him, went straight to the town, shooting sporadically into the air to pave the way for them to kidnap residents and students of the college.

Tsafe said, “During gun duel, two CPG operatives lost their lives and two operational vehicles belonging to the military and Zamfara CPG were also set ablaze by the bandits.

“The quick response of the military, police and CPG joint task force made them to retreat to the forest,” he said
