The Bala Wunti Movement 2027, a Bauchi based political group, has debunked widespread rumours suggesting that Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti, a former Upstream Investment Officer of NNPCL, will not contest the Bauchi State governorship election in 2027, insisting that he remains firmly in the race.

Addressing journalists in Bauchi yesterday, the state coordinator of the group, Yahaya Miya, described the reports as the handiwork of “panicking individuals” threatened by Dr. Wunti’s growing popularity across the state.

“The rumours do not come as a surprise. They are only expressing their fears over the wide acceptance and rising popularity of Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti,” Miya said.
He emphasised that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has not yet issued official guidelines or deadlines for declaring interest in elective positions, stressing that Dr. Wunti’s ambition remains on course.

“Let me assure you and the general public that there is no going back — Insha Allah, Dr. Bala will contest the seat of the Governorship of Bauchi State come 2027 under the APC,” Miya affirmed.

The coordinator further disclosed that Wunti will formally declare his intention to run “in no distant future,” while commending supporters for their loyalty and mobilisation efforts across the state.

“Dr. Bala is aware of their daily and weekly activities, and their sustained prayers and support will not be in vain,” he added.

Miya also urged party members to maintain unity and avoid political rancour, regardless of their affiliations with other aspirants.

He concluded by appreciating the media for its “balanced and positive reportage,” calling for continued professionalism as the political season gathers momentum.
