Bauchi Approves N130m For Qur’anic Recitation Competition

Bauchi State Government has approved N130 million for the 39th State Qur’anic Recitation Competition.
The competition, an annual event, slated for Jama’are, saw participants from 20 local government areas of the state jostling for various prizes in different categories.

Nafi’u Umar from Tafawa Balewa and Aisha Abba from Katagum local governments respectively won the 60 Hizb category and qualified to represent Bauchi at the national level of the competition billed for Kebbi.

Speaking at the event in Jama’are, Governor Bala Muhammad who was represented by the Speaker Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Sulaiman, underscores the administration’s commitment to fostering Qur’anic memorisation and recitation among youths across the state.

Narrating Bauchi’s long-standing record of excellence in Qur’anic recitation competitions, the governor said that the state’s legacy in such events, both nationally and internationally, demands sustained support.

He encouraged participants to see beyond the competitive aspect of the event, emphasising the spiritual and moral rewards of Qur’an recitation.

Chairman of the State Organising Committee, Sheikh Hassan Zango, lauded the governor’s continuous support, pledging to ensure transparency in the competition.
