Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has approved the appointment of Aminu Hammayo as the new secretary to the state government (SSG).
The appointment of Hammayo followed the sudden resignation of the former SSG, Ibrahim Kashim, a close political associate of Governor Mohammed.
Hammayo held different capacities under previous Bauchi governors and also contested for the office of the governor. He served as Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning and Multilateral Coordination in the last four years under Governor Mohammed.
Special adviser to the governor on media and publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, who disclosed the appointment in a statement on Friday, added that Alhaji Hashimu Kumbala has also been appointed as the principal private secretary (PPS) to the governor.
Gidado said the appointments reflect the governor’s commitment to effective governance and vision for a more inclusive and progressive administration.
“Aminu Hammayo, a seasoned administrator and public servant, has served Bauchi State with distinction in various capacities, earning a reputation for excellence, diligence and unwavering dedication to public service.
“He was a one-time secretary to the state government,” the statement read in part.
