The completed road projects are the 11.2-km Boi-Tapshin and the 11-km Malar-Lusa-Bogoro, while the Bogoro people generally commended the governor for the financial tap-up to the successful completion of the township Interdenominational Church.

The project supervising engineer, Ado Shehu in Bogoro told the state facility tour team led by the commissioner for Information and Communication, Usman Shehu Usman, that contract for the two roads which were awarded in 2020 have successfully been completed and delivered within the time framework.

The Boi-Tapshin road was also completed on schedule and has been opened for public use, while the Tapshin Bridge was elevated to withstand heavy water flow during the rainy season, a development that has eased flooding challenges in the area.

He said the road, which was awarded under the state’s Accelerated Road Project initiative, was completed with modern specifications, including a five-span bridge, box and ring culverts, and a 10.3-metre-wide carriageway with shoulders.

Residents, including Istifanus Barde from Tapshin and Astra John from Boi, recalled the difficulties they endured before the road was constructed, particularly during floods when trade and farming activities were disrupted.

The team also visited the ongoing Boi–Gambar–Lere Road, initially awarded in 2024 at 29 kilometers but later extended to over 35 kilometers following realignment.

According to him, the contract duration is 36 dry months, with current progress at about 48 per cent. He noted that three major bridges have been completed, two more are under construction, while over 40 culverts have already been installed.

Shehu further disclosed that the project scope was expanded to include a two-span bridge at Zakam, following community requests, which Governor Bala Mohammed approved and funded.

Local leaders similarly expressed appreciation for the governor’s interventions, while Hon. Paulmi Bulus Datsir, Councillor of Gambar Ward, said the new roads have significantly improved the movement of people and farm produce.

Datsir who said that the roads are now boosting economic activities of the area, however, appealed for the timely completion of the Boi-Gambar-Lere Road to address challenges posed by the rainy season.

Community members and traditional leaders in Bogoro described the road projects as a turning point, saying the improved road networks are opening up their communities for trade, farming, and social interactions.

At the Bogoro Local Government Secretariat, the inspection team was received by the chairman Hon. Lawi Yakubu Tsumi.

Hon. Lawi Yakubu Sumi reaffirmed that the Bala Mohammed administration remained committed to completing all ongoing projects across the state within stipulated timelines.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Usman Shehu Usman explained that the visit was part of efforts to assess key road projects in the area.
