According to Governor Bala Mohammed, the state government has already set aside the sum of N45 billion for this purpose, awaiting the procurement of necessary machines.

Launching this year’s farming season and fertilizer sale at Gajin Duguri in Alkaleri local government area of the state yesterday, the governor said soil samples had also been taken for the various farms across the state to ascertain the types of fertilizer to be used and kinds of crops to be planted.

“We are very inquisitive and very aggressive in terms of leveraging on knowledge on people who know how to do it, and we would be found willing partners in terms of getting where to go to cross-fertilize ideas,” the governor said.

He explained that in his administration’s determination to ensure food security, it had been encouraging civil servants to engage in farming activities, giving 2-3 days for them to be on their farms.
