Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has given 300 Saudi riyals to each of the over 3,000 pilgrims from the state who participated in this year’s hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement issued by his media aide, Mukhtar Gidado yesterday, the governor announced the donation when he visited pilgrims from the state at their Munna tent on Thursday to appreciate them for their good conduct in the holy land.
Governor Mohammed commended the pilgrims for respecting authorities both in Nigeria and in Saudi Arabia and assured that his administration would not relent in supporting the pilgrims welfare board in order to provide the best services.
He said the state government would partner the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to address challenges being experienced by the state’s hajj commission in Saudi Arabia.
“I am here to congratulate the entire pilgrims from Bauchi for this lifetime privilege from Almighty Allah to visit the holy land for pilgrimage. I salute your statesmanship and that of the officials for your commitment towards protecting the image of our dear state in the holy land,” he said.
The state’s amirul hajj, the Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Yunusa Mohammed Danyaya who spoke through his deputy, Dallami Ahmed Kawule, applauded the governor for supporting the committee to provide good services for the pilgrims.
In their separate remarks, the chairman and executive secretary of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Nuru Adamu Jumba, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris, reiterated their commitment to support the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed to succeed in making Bauchi a great state.
