The Bauchi state government signed a N3.4 billion agreement on Wednesday to construct a state-of-the-art mega trailer park in Azare town, Katagum local government area, as part of efforts to expand transport infrastructure and stimulate economic activity in the northern region of the state.

Signing on behalf of the government, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Dr Aminu Hammayo revealed that the facility will include a fully equipped trailer mechanical workshop, hotel accommodations, a business arena, and other essential support facilities, all designed to meet international standards.

Dr Hammayo explained that Truck Transit Park Limited will fully fund the project. At the same time, the Bauchi State Government will oversee operations and benefit from the revenue generated once the park becomes operational. He described the initiative as a major step toward enhancing commercial activities and improving organised transport operations in the state.

Also speaking, the director general of the Bauchi State Markets and Terminals Authority, Muhammad Kabir Sizwe Said, said the project aligns with the administration’s commitment to modernising markets, terminals, and trailer parks across Bauchi State.

He added that it will improve operational efficiency while ensuring the safety and welfare of truck drivers and traders.

Engr. Jama Onwubuariri, managing director of Truck Transit Park Limited, expressed confidence in the partnership, describing Bauchi as a strategic hub for logistics and transit investment.
