The state commissioner for health, Dr Adamu Sambo, stated this in his office during the commemoration of the World Health Workers’ Week 2024, which was organised by the ministry and United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
He said about 150 volunteers from each of the 20 local government areas of the state will be absorbed into the civil service to improve the healthcare system.
Sambo said the state government is determined to transform the healthcare system by organising a health summit and declaring a state of emergency on health.
He stated that the state government is determined to provide enabling environment to healthcare workers by improving their remuneration while stressing the need for stakeholders in the health sector to play their role in repositioning the system.
