Wife of the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate, Mrs Teslima Abubakar Eradiri, has officially flagged off the women campaign train for the Eradiri/Natus governorship ticket.

At a meeting with women leaders in the eight local government areas of the state held at the Labour Party Campaign Secretariat in Yenagoa, Mrs Eradiri tasked the women leaders to commence grassroots mobilisation of women in their areas to support the Labour Party candidate in the November 11 governorship election.

She said the gathering was the first meeting with the women to familiarise with themselves, get their goals and their agenda together and develop a road map for the campaigns for the forthcoming governorship election.

According to her, the LP gubernatorial candidate is poised to transform Bayelsa from a spending state to an income generating state for a better life for the youths and the old, adding that “this is the kind of dream that Udengs has for the state.”

She said, “He wants a better life for children. He wants a Bayelsa State where people will come to, a state that has something that will attract people. We are not going to be a spending state, by God’s grace we going to be an income generating state.

“There will something bringing people to Bayelsa State, where people will say there is this hospital in Yenagoa, if you are looking for the best cancer doctor, it’s in Yenagoa. If you are looking for the best orthopedic surgeon, it’s in Yenagoa. If you are looking for a rice factory, it’s in Yenagoa, if you are looking for a sugar mill, it’s in Yenagoa.

“That is the kind of dream that my husband has for the state. Oil is our major revenue in Nigeria and Bayelsa is the bed of this oil. When somebody comes in to Bayelsa for the first, you will ask, is this the Bayelsa? Is this the Yenagoa? Is this that wealthy state?

“Then you will realise that Bayelsa State has been plagued with bad leaders, with greedy people who only want to come in and fend for themselves and their families. They will come and marry 10 wives while they are in office with state resources, living lavish lifestyle.
