The Baze University, Abuja, is set to establish an Aviation School in Bwari area, with its own runway for training of pilots and aviation-related courses.
This was revealed on Thursday by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, following a courtesy visit to his office by a high-powered delegation from the institution led by its founder and Chancellor, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed.
Keyamo, in a post on his verified Facebook page, said the proposed Baze University Aviation School would receive the full support and cooperation of the Federal Government.
“Earlier today, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Chancellor of Baze University, Abuja, led a high-powered delegation from the University to my office on a working visit. They came in respect of the proposed Baze University Aviation School, which is to be sited in Bwari, with its own runway for training of pilots and aviation-related courses,” Keyamo wrote.
The Minister noted that he had already directed his Permanent Secretary and all relevant aviation agencies to fast-track the necessary approvals and documentation to ensure the project’s speedy take-off.
“I assured them of the full cooperation and support of the Federal Government towards the realisation of the project and immediately directed my Permanent Secretary and all relevant aviation agencies to hasten all bureaucratic processes to ensure its take-off,” Keyamo added.
