This is even as the managing director, Dr Raymond Asemakaha, informed that the water and bakery factories built by BIPC at Tse Ayu on George Akume Way at the cost of N220 million will also be completed and commissioned this month.

The MD who disclosed this to newsmen after a tour of the brewery, water, and bakery factories in Makurdi said the company will give Benue and Nigerians high premium quality beer that will be made in Benue using fresh raw materials.

He said, “The decision to build these companies is to take unemployed youths out of the streets and ensure that funds are no longer taken out of the state but rather retained within to boost the state economy.

“This is because numerous studies revealed that producers of the beer and alcoholic beverages make between N800 million to N870 million monthly and this is a huge revenue for the state.”

He said that from the start, the company would be producing 180,000 bottles of beer per day, because fermentation alone takes 15 days, adding that the water factory from the start would be producing 3,000 table water within an hour and 9,000 per day and would increase as the demand increases.

He said, “We have planned adequately for the raw materials needed for the production of the beer.”

Also, the head of business development and strategy of BIPC, Mrs Theresa Abeda, said all they do is identify and recommend businesses of interest that would bring development and improved revenue for consideration.

Abeda said the department has capable hands to deliver on their given mandate.
