The terrorists also set ablaze two patrol vehicles belonging to the police and members of Civilian Joint Task Force and a motorcycle, even as some arms and ammunition were carted away by the rampaging insurgents.
Jakana is about 45kms drive from Maiduguri, located along Damaturu -Maiduguri expressway.
Sources confirmed to our correspondent in Maiduguri that the terrorists stormed the police station at about 1 am, where they engaged the security agencies for about three hours, overwhelmed them, and fled at about 3 am.

The executive chairman of the Konduga council area, Hon. Abbas Ali Abari, in a telephone call with our correspondent, confirmed the incident, but said he does not have details of casualties, even though he said, “Yes,

I received a distress call that Boko Haram terrorists attacked Jakana police station last night. I am speaking with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), and whenever I get the details, I will furnish you,” the chairman said.
