The Borno State Police Command has deployed adequate security ahead of the visit of President Bola Tinubu to the State on Saturday.

A statement on Saturday in Maiduguri by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, said the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, has drafted a robust security architecture comprising conventional police personnel, tactical teams, surveillance squads, crowed control and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units to ensure a safe, secure, and hitch-free visit.

Police announced that certain roads, particularly the parallel route from Airport Road to Shehu Road in Maiduguri may experience temporary vehicular restrictions or diversions to facilitate the smooth movement of dignitaries and ensure public safety.

Motorists and residents have been advised to remain patient and comply with lawful directives of security personnel on duty.

The Command reassured residents of its commitment to the protection of lives and property before, during, and after the presidential visit, and called for the continued cooperation, vigilance, and support of the public.

Daso urged the people to report any suspicious movement or security related concern promptly to the nearest police station or through established emergency contact channels.
